IPL 2020 Scheduled Dates Extended Due to Coronavirus Effect
One of the bad news for cricket fans, whose eagerly awaited Indian and world cricket fans have been exposed to the threat of corona virus on the latest season.
The Indian Cricket Control Board has decided to close the 13th season of the Indian Premier League. The tournament was originally scheduled to begin on March 29, but now the IPL will be held from April 15. All eight franchisees participating in the tournament have also been informed about the matter.
According to the latest information, a BCCI official told the media that it has been decided that the world’s largest and most expensive cricket league match will be played from April 15. It is worth mentioning that due to the outbreak of the Corona virus, all other current visas except diplomatic, official, UN / international organizations, employment and project visas will be suspended
till April 15. So far 76 cases of corona virus have been reported in the country.
The Ministry of Sports has made it clear that we will not stop the planning but have to adhere to government guidelines strictly. The Foreign Ministry also did not advise on the date of the tournament, but left the decision entirely on the organizers.
BCCI officials will meet with the owners of the tournament’s franchise teams before the IPL Governing Council meeting begins tomorrow. Only then will this be discussed.
